Does registration include the hotel room?
No – you have to register for your hotel accommodations separately – please see the "Hotel" page.
Will the registration and ticket prices change if I wait to purchase the day of the event (at the door)?
No, we do not penalize our Tejano fans by increasing registration and ticket prices – all fees remain the same no matter when you purchase. Space is limited and we cannot guarantee there will be availability if you wait till the day of the show.
Is there a senior discount or special discounts?
No. The Tejano Convention makes a strong effort to offer competitive pricing comparable or lower than other Las Vegas entertainment offerings and pricing.
Is there one dance or two dances?
Two dances – Friday and Saturday evening both include dancing.
Is there a "packaged price special" for one person I can purchase for the whole weekend?
To provide the most options for Tejano fans we make all registrations and tickets available á la carte to accommodate a variety of preferences and schedules.
Can I register for one day or is it a requirement to register for the entire weekend?
Yes, you can register for one day – Friday or Saturday evening or both. See Registration at www.vegastejano.com for pricing information.
Can I pay for my registration with a personal check?
Personal checks are accepted but must be mailed no later than June 15, 2012.
Can I register online and pay with a credit card?
Credit card payment is accepted to process registrations. American Express, Visa, Master Card and Discover are accepted. Phone registrations are accepted until July 17, 2012 by calling the office direct at 913/ 397-8850. After July 17 you must register onsite. Online registrations are not available.
I have called and left a message, what should I do if I don't receive a call back?
We make every effort to check messages and return all calls daily. During high volume times the mailbox may become full – we ask that you email us at rcruz@latinpointe.com or call again. Some reasons that calls are not returned include: speaking too fast, not leaving a name, no phone number with area code or calling from a mobile phone with technical difficulties.
I purchased a VIP table and it is not placed in the location like the diagram shows?
The diagram is a general guide of how tables will be placed. Due to Fire Marshall and venue logistical requirements there may be some final shifting. It is our goal to get as close as possible to duplicating the floor chart within 30 feet. If a table is beyond the 30 feet allowance we will try to accommodate guests onsite (no refunds). Please notify the registration desk or staff member as soon as possible no later than 8:00pm on show date.
What is the difference between registrations and tickets?
Your registration is your "entrance" into the Tejano Music National Convention. It gives you access to the TejanoExperience USA Expo & Fanfare, Workshops, Tejano Dance Instruction and the Dances.
Will my registration be mailed to me?
No registrations will be mailed. All registrants will receive confirmations via email or USPS mail. To receive your registration credentials you must provide identification (driver's license) at the Convention registration desk.
Can I wait to register when I get to Las Vegas or will the Convention "sell out"?
Yes you can register on-site at the Convention. Traditionally registrants who desire a choice table selection and preferred seating will register early (VIP seating is limited). The seating is limited and we will not register beyond the capacity of the hotel space available to maintain the safety of everyone.
Do I have to purchase/register for a table of ten?
No you are not required to purchase a complete table of ten. We welcome registrations of one, two, three – no matter how many are in your party. For groups less than ten seating is assigned by convention staff to complete a table of ten.
If I have to cancel my registration – what is your refund policy?
All registrations are final and NO REFUNDS will be issued. However your registration is transferable. The registrant must notify LatinPointe in writing no later than July 1, 2012 of the change or the transfer request will not be honored. What is the difference between VIP Registrations and General Registration?
VIP Registrations are for attendees who want to be seated closer to the dance floor perimeter and stage.
Do I have to wear the event wrist band all the time? What if I lose the event wrist band?
Convention registration event wrist bands are the only way to identify those who have registered. If you do not have this to identify that you are registered Event Security will NOT allow you entrance. Replacement: Go to Registration to have a wrist band reissued with your photo I.D. (driver's license) and a replacement fee equal to the value of registration at the time will be assessed for lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed wrist band.
How do I know where my seats are if I purchased "reserved" seating?
There are four resources to help you locate your seat:
1. Confirmation document includes the table number.
2. Event wrist band includes the table number printed on it.
3. Event staff will be available at registration entrances to help direct you to your table.
4. Seating chart can be downloaded and printed for easy reference.
Can I switch seats?
No. Event management respectfully requests that registrants honor the assigned table number that each registrant has received. If a registrant discovers seating assignment discrepancies please notify registration or event staff immediately for assistance.
What if someone at my table is not part of my group?
Please notify registration immediately so that the Event Staff or Event Security can help find the correct table for anyone not at their assigned table
Are the day events included in my registration or is there an additional fee?
There is no additional cost for the activities during the day (TejanoExperience USA Expo, Dance Instruction, Workshops, etc.) as they are automatically included with your registration.
I only want to attend the dances in the evening and not the day events – does the cost change?
The registration fee is all inclusive of events (day and evening) and does not change should you only want to attend the evening portions.
Are video cameras allowed?
Yes. Registrants are responsible for all possessions including handbags, phones, glasses, etc. Event management is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Will any food be served?
All venues will have a variety of food and beverage concessions available for purchase.
Can I bring my own drinks?
No outside beverages are allowed. Event Security will be checking bags and are instructed to confiscate outside food and beverages.
Is there dancing allowed?
YES! Please wear comfortable dancing shoes as most people who love to dance will get a good workout. It is also advised that if you do not dance regularly or have any special health conditions – please consult your doctor before the Convention to ensure you have a safe and positive experience (as with any physical activity).
Is there a dress code?
No dress code is required. Most people dress in country western style or cocktail after-hours attire. This is a family atmosphere and we want you to be comfortable. In past year's we have been so impressed by couples who coordinate well and individuals who are Tejano fashion trend makers.
Can I bring my children?
Yes! We encourage families to enjoy this special event. During the evening, you may bring children however all minors (under the age of 18) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children who are 10 years of age and under may be admitted at no additional cost but those who are 11 thru 17 must be registered for the Convention. Please note that alcoholic beverages are offered at all event locations. The Tejano Music National Convention and all event vendors are in compliance with Nevada alcohol laws. It is our goal to make the Tejano experience available and safe for our attendees and their families and we respectfully ask that discretion be used when making decisions involving minors.
Do you have a special area for people in wheelchairs?
All venues are in compliance with and follow regulations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ballroom floor configuration, large IMAG screens, state-of-the-art sound system, wide isles and round table seating help to ensure each registrant a positive experience.
